Welcome to Our School

Welcome to St Briavels Parochial Primary School

Welcome to St Briavels Parochial Primary School. We are a happy and creative school situated in the village of St Briavels, enjoying a beautiful outlook over the valley and an outdoor environment allowing many experiential learning opportunities. St Briavels currently have 132 children organised into five classes as well as our pre-school Sunflowers Class where we take children from 2 years and 6 months old.

St Briavels is part of The Wye Forest Federation which is currently made up of two partner primary schools situated along the Wye Valley on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

St Briavels School is the larger of the two but is also at the heart of the local community. We use the local Lindnors hotel pool for our swimming lessons, which is only a short drive away, using the federation minibus. At each of the Christian festivals throughout the year we are able to share our celebrations with the community through services held in CHURCH and at other times we regularly welcome Reverend Robert Simpson and Matt Rees from the Baptist Chapel to lead collective worship at the school. We are grateful to be able to use the chapel for a variety of activities that support both children’s learning and the wider work of the school. We are lucky to have two forest school sites to use as well as our fabulous school field which boasts a variety of dedicated areas including Rhiannon’s Garden, the trim trail and our wild area. Our outdoor space means we can be outdoors learning throughout the year and we have the most amazing view from our playground along the Wye Valley. We are working to ensure that the local community are included in the work of the school and have recently enjoyed interviewing local residents as part of our learning about the war.
