Forest School

We currently hold Forest Adventure sessions for the whole school during two terms of the year. Forest Adventures differ from other forms of learning in that they focus on the whole person. In an environment outside the formal settings of  classrooms, woodland creates its own learning environment framed by safety routines and established boundaries. The woodland site used is five minutes away via mini bus. Children experience active learning in a less structured manner which suits the individual learning styles of many children.
Forest Adventures enables children to experience managed risks, make their own decisions and therefore help produce a more confident individual. Forest Adventures is based more on the process of learning than on the content- more on the 'how' than the 'what'. Opportunities and activities are available to 'scaffold' and child's learning which is encouraged to be self-initiated.
